New Frame Productions is a live and digital production company launched in 2020 by producers James Quaife and Robin Rayner. NFP values inclusivity, artistic bravery, queerness, sustainability and bold storytelling, with the belief that there should be fewer barriers to theatre, art and entertainment. The company was set up in response to the Coronavirus pandemic to explore new ways of creating and sharing culturally relevant stories, adapting to an ever-changing world. We continue to rise to that challenge.

In 2021 NFP were honoured to be selected for The Rising Stars Festival launched by Nimax Theatres to kick start the re-opening of the West End.

James quaife

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - he/him

James is an award-winning theatrical and entertainment producer who has produced theatre in the West End and around the UK.

With a background in both the subsidised and commercial sector James is passionate about nurturing and developing new and innovative work for the stage, as well as offering the highest quality theatre and live entertainment possible.

As an independent Producer and General Manager, productions include: the Pulitzer Prize Winning Drama; Sweat (Gielgud Theatre; Winner of the Evening Standard Award for Best Play 2019 and Olivier Nominated for Best New Play), Good People starring Imelda Staunton (Noël Coward Theatre), the world premiere of Barking in Essex starring Lee Evans, Sheila Hancock and Keeley Hawes (Wyndham’s Theatre; Evening Standard and WhatsOnStage Award nominations for Best New Comedy), GHBoy (Charing Cross Theatre) Next Fall starring Charlie Condou (Southwark Playhouse), Step 9 (of 12) starring Blake Harrison and Precious Little Talent (Trafalgar Studios).

From 2014 - 2019 James was the Producer for English Touring Theatre, productions include: Equus (Trafalgar Studios/Theatre Royal Stratford East/UK tour; Winner of the UK Theatre Awards, Best Revival 2019 & the Off-West End Awards for Best Production 2019), Two Trains Running (Royal & Derngate/UK tour), Dealing with Clair (Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond), A Streetcar Named Desire (UK tour; UK Theatre Awards nomination – Best Touring Production 2018), Rules for Living (Royal & Derngate/Rose Theatre Kingston/UK tour), Silver Lining (Rose Theatre Kingston/ UK tour), Hamlet (Trafalgar Studios), Brideshead Revisited (York Theatre Royal/UK tour), The Herbal Bed (Royal & Derngate/Rose Theatre Kingston/UK tour; Winner – UK Theatre Awards Best Touring Production 2016), The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead (Liverpool Everyman/ Shakespeare’s Globe/UK tour) and Arcadia (Theatre Royal Brighton/UK tour).

James is a member of The Society of London Theatre and the League of Independent Producers.

 

robin rayner

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - he/him

Prior to NFP, Robin was the Producer at Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford and Associate General Manager of the Olivier Awards. He is an award-winning theatre producer, supported by Stage One and the recipient of multiple bursary awards for a diverse range of projects.

Robin is the founder and producer of theatre companies TREMers (with Tom O’Brien) and Robin Rayner Productions Ltd, focusing on new writing, cabaret and telling politically driven stories. He produced award-nominated RIPPED by Alex Gwyther (including a film version commissioned by Survivors Manchester), the UK tour of Iconic: A Brief History of Drag starring Velma Celli and the EdFringe production of TIMMY by Roxy Dunn.

Prior to this he was General Manager of With a Little Bit of Lerner starring David Bedella, Alexia Khadime and Rachel Tucker, and Sondheim on Sondheim starring Liz Callaway, Tyrone Huntley and Julian Ovenden, both at The Royal Festival Hall for BBC Radio. Robin produces NYC cabaret star Tori Scott, with performances in the West End, Edinburgh Festival and on UK tours.

Previous work: The Big Smoke Festival featuring Joel Harper-Jackson, Tyrone Huntley, Cassie Compton, Jodie Steele and The Ida Girls (The Other Palace), Freemason’s Tercentenary Celebration (Royal Albert Hall), FABRIC (UK Tour; Winner of The Scotsman Fringe First Award), Bubble Schmeisis (Camden People’s Theatre and Edinburgh Festival), Foiled (Edinburgh Festival; The Stage’s Pick of the Fringe), The Dogs of War (Old Red Lion; Winner of Most Promising Playwright at the Off West End Awards 2016), the sell-out 21st anniversary production of The Fastest Clock in the Universe (Old Red Lion; filmed by the V&A for the NVAP), The Confession Room (St. James Studio) and Oil & Trouble - workshops (directed by Lisa Goldman and choreographed by Ben Duke). Robin was the Associate Producer on Next Fall (Southwark Playhouse) and Our Friends, the Enemy (UK tour and Theatre Row, New York City).

From the earliest workshop to fully staged large-scale productions, it’s never too early to engage NFP to collaborate with you.

We are passionate about the live entertainment industry and telling inspiring stories.

NFP supervises and manages theatrical productions of all sizes and complexities and backed by years of experience.
